This is Vera Ghazzouli. This was one of my last shoots in Bonaire before moving back to the states a couple week ago. It was wonderful working with such a new young talent (she’s 16!) and great helping friends. Shout out to the kids that pulled over and helped us get our truck out of the mud! Of course this would happen during our shoot! I’ll miss you Bonaire…but its not bye bye, its see you later!

Early in the morning at Pink Beach, Miss Bonaire aka Benazir Charles and I met up to shoot. Her relaxed poise in front of the camera was as ideal as her natural beauty that shined brightly throughout the shoot. This was the day before her big move from tiny Bonaire to London! Talk about changes. Very exciting and bold step on her behalf, best of luck to her!!

Last week I had a blast shooting Alexis Kay Lee at her beautiful home here on Bonaire. Her house is simply to die for! While we were shooting we even saw a school of dolphins swim by, doesn’t get much better than that!  Incorporated some underwater video too, my favorite. Enjoy!

Been super busy updating my site and spitting out new work for my new website launch!

Heres just some photos ive shot lately that you will see in upcoming blog posts.

Here you see a big school of Big-eye scad which are also known as Mas Bangos in Papiamentu (local language here on the ABC islands). I felt invincible while diving and photographing the Mas Bangos. Usually fishes are very weary and cautions around divers but with this particular school of fish I became engulfed by the hundreds. This is because they had more imporant things to focus on which were the Jack fishes that were plotting and dodging at the school hoping to snag one of the Mas Bangos for a snack. Its the circle of life in the simplest form! Incredible. Felt like I was watching Planet Earth! (Pretty much because I was!)

Shot these of my friend Gyselle a couple weeks ago. Been photographing and  videoing quiteeeee a lot these last couple months. Just been pretty busy here in Bonaire  working on my  old boat Samur and working on getting my EU passport. Taking way longer than expected. Starting to miss the “real” world…if that exists…haha. Lets cross our fingers.

There are so many locations on Bonaire where I get inspired to shoot fashion. Something about the colors and structures of nature on this island just inspires me. This series “Spirit Cave” was shot at Boca Onima where indian inscription from over 500+ years ago are drawn on these cave walls just an eyes view from the rocky ocean coast.  Even though I did not shoot these photos precisely where the inscriptions are (they are sectioned off for safety + viewing) all sections of these caves still carry an hefty amount of history  and soul where you can just feel it. It’s a beautiful thing.

Been backing up my hard-drive these days (such a PAIN..!!! but SUCH a necessity) and have been stumbling across so many great memories. Chassidy is one of my best friends and we have some pretty hilarious and RIDICULOUS photos of our hangout times, but to save ourselves the embarrassment I figured I’d post these photos from a shoot we did ages ago, she looks so beautiful!

Here is a series of photos we took while catching up. I LOVE her beautiful locks of hair and felt like capturing all the fluidity that it possesses!

Now if only I could grow my hair out like that !! Ahhhh….
